Welcome to the Verandah Living website

Verandah Living is a Byron Bay based furniture and homeware store that sources antique and vintage furniture, lights and homewares from Argentina, Uruguay and Europe. Verandah Living also offers a designed range of up-cycled furniture and lamps created from salvaged architectural elements sourced worldwide. Our two current collections, “Belle Époque” and “Wood Duck”, share a common aesthetic of rustic, vintage elegance.

Belle Epoque Collection of Furniture and Homewares

The Belle Époque collection of turn of the century French and Argentine furniture is imported from Buenos Aires, Argentina and Montevideo in Uruguay. This collection features turn-of-the-century furniture and lighting as well as architectural and outdoor pieces. These treasures were discovered in the antique districts of San Telmo, Buenos Aires and Montevideo. The range includes cabinets, consuls, chandeliers, candelabras, gates, windows, mirrors and more.

Wood Duck Collection of Standing Lamps

The new ‘Wood Duck’  range has been crafted from salvaged, timber columns sourced in Indonesia and repurposed into unique and individual standing lamps. These gorgeous  lamps are made from antique joglo posts (verandah columns) salvaged in Java where they were abandoned after the traditional antique joglo houses were relocated. The columns are all made of teak, are more than 100 years old and come in a variety of sizes, colours and designs. Some of the lamp stands have intricate carving, others no carving at all but all the stands have a rich and faded patina and lots of texture and personality.

The lamps have been created  to work in pairs but can be also be ordered separately. They come with 100% linen shades in a variety of styles including bell, cone and drum shapes and in cream, rouge or natural French linen.
